Commissary Custodian - Nights - Smokey Point 

Location: Smokey Point Commissary, Marysville WA

Schedule: This is a night position. Hours vary.
Pay: 16.82/Hour plus excellent benefits package.

Requirements

  • A reliable custodial crew member who cleans the Smokey Point Commissary.

  • Prior janitorial/custodial experience preferred but not required.

  • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated.

 

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following

  • Cleans and details facility. Removes trash; dusts equipment, furniture, or fixtures; vacuums carpet, cleans walls, mirrors or table-tops.

  • Floor care including sweeping, mopping, burnishing, and scrubbing, requiring use of a buffer and an auto-scrubber machine

  • Cleans lavatories, showers, and restrooms using correct chemicals on all surfaces. Dust and wipes-down fixtures, fills dispensers, empties trash containers, and mops floors.

  • Cleans breakrooms, hallways, common areas, offices, and training rooms. Sweeps and mops floors, fills dispensers, and empties trash containers.

  • Outside cleaning including sweeping and some pressure washing

  • Wipes down display glass throughout the store

  • Dusts high areas that may require the use of ladders

  • Bailing cardboard as needed

Physical Requirements and Essential Functions

  • Ability to endure up to 7 hours a day of standing, and walking.

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to reach, kneel, walk, stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time.

  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal instructions.

  • Must be able to work well with others.

  • Must not exceed absences past accrued sick leave.

  • Maintains professionalism in both appearance and demeanor. Must wear full length pants and closed toed shoes.

Hours: This is a night position. Monday-Saturday 8pm-approximately 3am (about 20-25 hours a week, ending time varies depending on case load), with Sunday night off and an additional night off during the week

Requirements

  • Operating pallet jacks to bring large pallets of cases throughout the store

  • Safely opening cardboard boxes with use of a box cutter

  • Placing product on shelves in an efficient manner

  • Ability to read UPC codes to accurately place product in the designated area

  • Pulling two items of product to the front of the self, while facing contractor responsible items

  • Bailing cardboard as needed

  • Stacking empty pallets

  • Must stand on step stools to reach high shelves

Finance Specialist

Location: New Leaf office

Hours: Monday - Friday 8-4 and as needed.

Job Summary

The Finance Specialist is responsible for the overall support, coordination and evaluation of the Finance & Payroll department. They will assure safe, orderly and efficient handling of New Leaf’s funds, and provide accurate financial records for management, the Board of Directors, and certified public accountants. This entails managing New Leaf’s cash flow, maintaining precise records of bills and payments, and ensuring compliance with company/legal requirements, as well as assisting in the day-to-day operations to ensure accurate processing and recording of payroll. They will ensure pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with company, government, state and local regulations. This position requires protecting New Leaf operations by keeping employee and company information confidential.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assists with internal controls, annual insurance, audits and other financial reporting.

  • Assists with company memberships, licenses, renewals, annual reports, inventory and depreciation schedule, asset depreciations, monthly, quarterly and year-end processes and reports.

  • Creates, reviews and approves monthly/quarterly/YTD financial statements, invoices, AP/AR, chart of accounts, petty cash, bank statement reconciliations, submission of all state and federally required forms and necessary payments.

  • Processes accounts payable for all outgoing payments including insurance, utilities, supplies, and other bills.

  • Processes accounts receivables for any balances of money due to New Leaf for services delivered but not yet paid by customers.

  • Process received payments and credit card payments. Paper checks are to be taken to the bank and deposited in person.

  • Collects, reviews and issues reimbursement requests for employee authorized work-related expenses.

  • Retrieves payroll register every payroll period and creates payroll report to confirm there is enough money in the checking account to cover the payroll.

  • Works with New Leaf’s CPA to review annual audit.

  • Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in PayNorthwest payroll system 

  • Collects, reviews and issues reimbursement requests for employee authorized work-related expenses.

  • Provides and collects documentation pertaining to payroll and benefits.

  • Oversees payroll, the processing, submitting and documenting of each payroll with accuracy and in a timely manner.

  • Updates employee records, new hires, terminations, status changes, wage information and department transfers.

  • Tracks and processes request forms and employee attendance.

  • Manages insurance plans and 401k contributions.

  • Processes garnishments, employee deductions, employment verifications, draws and direct deposits.

  • Submits and runs various report as well as recurring reports.

  • Updating and adjusting for any changes in policies and procedures.

  • Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, scanning, data entry, generating reports and maintaining file systems.

  • Participates and works with other projects and departments if/when needed.

Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary 
The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for equipment maintenance on all of New Leaf’s federal contracts. This equipment is but not limited to tractors, lawn mowers, lawn trimmers, small engines (fluid/oil changes). Carpet cleaners such as steamers and vacuums. Floor polishers such as buffers, walk behind scrubbers and ride on scrubbers. 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Requires compliance to written government contract standards in accordance with the Performance Work Statement. 

  • Check and maintain equipment to ensure that it is in working order.

  • Investigate complaints about down service and equipment, and take corrective action.

  • Recommend changes that could improve service and increase operational efficiency.

  • Instruct staff of work policies and procedures, and the use and maintenance of equipment.

  • Use and operate all equipment being serviced. 

  • Clean and maintain tools used for shop or equipment maintenance.  

  • Report malfunctioning equipment immediately to Field Manager. 

  • Submit supply needs to Field Manager. 

  • Use extension ladders, step ladders and step stools. 

  • Be familiar with and adhere to New Leaf’s safety and emergency procedures. 

  • Participate with Human Resources Department when needed in development and training.

Job Summary 
The HR/VS Specialist is responsible for the support, coordination and evaluation of the human resources and vocational services functions, and supervises staff for these functions. They will assist to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the HR/VS department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organizations mission. This position recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization, and maintains an HR/VS resource information system that meets New Leaf’s needs. 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the HR department.   

  • Recruits, interviews, and hires new staff across New Leaf’s five federal contracts. 

  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policies.

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention. Develops and executes best practices for hiring.   

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assists, administers and oversees human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and different types of leave i.e. Sick, Vacation, FMLA, WAPFML and L&I; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigation; performance; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. 

  • Maintains and updates company job postings via various online job boards and websites; notifies community outreach contacts of current listings, and tracks positions availability or unavailability using New Leaf Job Posting Tracker.  

  • Maintains and updates company application tracking via New Leaf Application Tracker. 

  • Assesses applicant’s capabilities and limitations in job placement based off disability documentation provided by qualifying employees. 

  • Assists new employees in obtaining program qualifying disability documentation if/when needed. 

  • Conducts employee intake process with new hires, shows employee where crew site is, and introduces new employees to their Project Manager or Supervisor. 

  • Conducts new hire evaluations weekly, then once a month during an employee’s first ninety days. Maintains and updates new hire evaluation tracking spreadsheets. 

  • Monitors Company’s Unemployment claims center via Equifax, and works with representative to provide information as needed. 

  • Monitors Company’s L&I claims, works with claim managers to provide information as needed. 

  • Works with NASWI Security, Pass and ID, contract sponsor, and employees to initiate, terminate, and track company DBIDS cards (base access pass). 

  • Assesses and approves employee RAF’s (requested attendance forms) for any employee unpaid time off. 

  • Conducts initial and annual IEE (Individual Eligibility Evaluations) with Project Managers and supervisors for qualifying disabled employees. 

  • Revision of documentation of HR/VS programs, policies, procedures and forms. 

  • Implements and maintains annual Affirmative Action Plan.

  • Developing and implementing an advocacy program within the guidelines of SourceAmerica.

  • Provides advice and counsel, interpreting procedures and programs. 

  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs. 

  • Provides independent living assistance if/when needed (not financially) i.e. helping provide or fill out documentation, and help them understand their rights and responsibilities.) 

  • Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance. 

  • Maintains knowledge of regulatory changes, new technologies in human resources, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practices and resources to upper management. 

  • Must work closely with Information Systems Administrator.
