Mayor Proclaims October 2009 as New Leaf Month

2010 New Leaf / Jo Balda Scholarship

           The Jo Balda Community Service Scholarship is awarded to an Oak Harbor High School graduating senior who has devoted his or her time to serving our community.  The 2010 recipient of this scholarship is Nancy Hernandez.

           Nancy will attend Western Washington University where she plans to enroll in pre-med classes with dentistry as her career goal.   Nancy’s parents are from Mexico and she is the first in her family to graduate from high school or go to college.
